Dragonwear & Station Wear
NFPA 1975 does not evaluate or certify base layers. As a result, protection at the base-layer level must be selected independently and assessed based on material behavior, comfort, and performance within a layered PPE system.
For this reason, we recommend DragonWear FR base layers.
DragonWear designs FR base layers specifically for daily wear in utilities and electrical environments, where garments are worn continuously through long shifts, temperature changes, and high physical output. Their base layers are engineered using inherent flame-resistant fibers that will not melt, drip, or ignite, and are evaluated using recognized industry test methods such as ASTM F1959 (arc thermal performance) and ASTM F1506 material requirements for arc-rated apparel.
Unlike conventional cotton or athletic undergarments, all DragonWear base-layer garments are flame resistant and purpose built to support protection rather than compromise it when worn beneath FR outer garments.
Effective moisture management at the base layer level helps reduce burn severity by limiting heat transfer to the skin and preventing sweat saturated fabrics from intensifying thermal injuries.
